Description
The Naim NAP 250 power amplifier’s aesthetic and technical evolution has ensured its sustained first rate performance over the years, creating an unforgettable musical experience.
The NAP 250 first appeared in 1975 and has become an iconic product and this new sixth generation model delivers more power than ever with its ultra modern technology providing unrivalled performance and system flexibility. Designed in Salisbury in the United Kingdom, the NAP 250 can be paired with the loudspeakers of your choice to deliver outstanding quality. The NAP 250 delivers unrivalled performance with 100 watts of A/B class power per channel, fully adjustable to set your music free in the most remarkable way.
To get the best out of your loudspeakers and music, combine Naim’s NAP 250 power amplifier with its perfect partner Naim’s NSC 222 streaming preamplifier.
The cutting edge design of Naim’s NAP 250 means it can be used even at high sound levels as its heat sink reacts to the increased volume, keeping the product “cool”. Other improvements include the addition of symmetrical XLR connections and a series of technologies derived from Naim’s iconic Statement amplifier, including a eddy current separator available between the loudspeaker outputs. It also incorporates the Naim Audio DR (Discrete Regulator) technology offering stable and a fluid power supply.
The Naim NAP 250 with Discrete Regulator producing low noise power supplies for the amplifiers regulated output stage.
This amplifier uses a soft start power up sequence to prevent the large toroidal transformers from tripping mains circuit breakers due to the large influx of voltage required. It also uses two internal power supplies. One is a high quality audiophile linear type, based on a large toroidal transformer and the other is a highly efficient SMPSU for 0.5W power consumption in standby during standby mode.
When using the NAP 250 with a compatible preamplifier, such as the NSC222, the power on/off and logo brightness across your system can be synchronised by connecting the two with the supplied Optical System Automation Cable. Simply plug the cable from the ‘Remote Out’ terminal of the preamplifier to the ‘Remote In’ terminal on the NAP 250. It is possible to link further power amplifiers using the ‘Remote Out’ terminal of the NAP 250.
Please Note: The NAP-250 can be used with legacy Naim products and their associated range of cables. Please enquire for further details.
